  3. As soon as the audio begins, the timer starts. You have 90 seconds to write out the key information in the textbox.
  4. You will begin typing after the template: "Patient is a 30 year old female/male who presents to the ED complaining of ***".
  5. If the 90 seconds expires, your transcription will be automatically submitted.

Important Notes:

  • This assessment is designed to evaluate how well you can listen and identify key, pertinent information from the scenario you hear.
  • You are not expected to transcribe every single word. Paraphrasing is encouraged as long as the essential information is accurately captured.
  • Use complete sentences. Do not use bullet points, lists, or shorthand.
  • You are not being tested on medical knowledge, HPI (history of present illness) writing, or any formal scribing techniques.
  • The goal is to assess how effectively you can extract important details from what is said and express them clearly and accurately in writing.
  • If time allows, feel free to revise or edit your sentences for clarity.
  • Reminder: The audio will play once only. Be prepared to listen attentively from the beginning.
  • Scenario 2 is available if you require a practice round or second try. You have 50 seconds for Scenario 2.
